Week 5, Day 1

I knew it! A mediocre 0.6 kg (1.32 lbs.)! That’s what I lost this past week. I was expecting a bad number but this still felt like a stab to my gut. I mean, I did do cardio 4 out of the 6 days I was supposed to and I did eat healthy 4 out of 7 days. I should have lost more than that.

But, you know, this happens sometimes. It might be a physiological thing as well; Water retention or something else. Weight loss is not usually linear. But physiological or not, I am definitely going to do some massive damage control this week. And hopefully, next week, the number will be better than it has ever been before!

Meals of the day

Meal 1: Tuna salad

Snack: Yoghurt, 10 grapes

Meal 2: 1 rounded scoop of whey

15 minutes steady rate cardio at speed 8.2 followed by 25 minutes HIIT at speeds 4.7 (walking speed) and 10.0-11.6 (sprinting speed).

Week 4, Day 7

And I am doing much better today. I think I can resume both healthy eating and gym tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

But right now, to be honest, I am mostly freaking out about how the number on my weight scale tomorrow will probably not be good. I know I didn’t overeat but I definitely didn’t eat healthy either. Oh well, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. And if the number is bad tomorrow, which I think it will be, I will just make sure to compensate for it this upcoming week (as much as I can anyway).

Meals of the day

Meal 1: 2 sandwiches with sardines in them

Snack: Yoghurt, 1 apple

Meal 2: 2 boiled eggs

Week 4, Day 6

Still sick!

I am just going to concentrate on getting better right now. I am putting weight loss on hold. Here is to hoping that by Monday, I am as good as new.

For the record though, I am not overeating or binge-eating.

Meals of the day

Meal 1: A Chicken Teriyaki 6-inch sub

Meal 2: A small tuna pizza (10 inches)

Week 4, Day 5

And I am sick! This is so not cool. I am on Beechams. I think I am overdosing a little but I just want to stop feeling so sick and weak. And it so does not help that in addition to a runny nose, I also have a cough now. Teaches me to go to the gym wearing a jacket and coming back wearing only a t-shirt with my jacket on my arm because I am feeling hot in 10°C (50°F). Might not be that but I sure as hell hope now, in retrospect, that I didn’t take that chance. Anyway, I am doing everything I can to get better as soon as possible.

Meals of the day

Meal 1: A Steak & Cheese 6-inch sub

Snack: Milk (1 glass) with some vanilla essence

Meal 2: Egg and toast

I am eating normally (as in not strictly healthy) because 1) I can’t be bothered to make healthy food right now and 2) I need to eat because I am on medicines.

Didn’t go.

Week 4, Day 4

Call it cosmic inspiration but last night before I went bed, it just occurred to me that,  for once, I should get my workout out of the way early morning. O.K, it wasn’t cosmic, not exactly. I just had loads to do today and I thought that if I left gym for later, I would probably not get to it.

And guess what?

By 6 p.m. today, I came down with a bug. It’s been going around for a while now and I finally caught it. This totally sucks. I hope I feel better by tomorrow or I would probably not be able to go gym. As of now, I feel like crap. I have a runny nose, my body temperature is slightly elevated, I THINK, (on account that I don’t actually own a thermometer) and I feel very weak. I am just going to hope for the best.

Meals of the day

Meal 1: My amazing tuna salad (am addicted to that stuff)

Snack: Yoghurt, 10 grapes

Meal 2: 5 KFC wings

Steady rate cardio for 15 minutes at speed 8.2 followed by HIIT at speed 10.0-11.6 (sprinting speed) and 5.5-5.7 (walking speed) for the next 25.
